About

Welcome. My name is Brian Loux and I am an environmental engineer and analyst who has studied and worked on water issues for more than a decade. While I’m interested in a whole host of environmental, development, and sustainability issues, I’m most interested in the management of water as a resource and how this will be shaping our future. This web site is dedicated to reviewing and analyzing news about the world’s water issues; from stormwater regulation trends in the US to scarcity concerns in equatorial regions, I’ll aim to tackle the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I am also fascinated by developments in analytical programming efforts, and live with someone who can call herself data scientist and mean it. As a secondary goal, I will intend to keep tabs on new Big Data research and analysis efforts, especially as they pertain to environmental protection and international development.

At times, should the opportunity exist to present some independent or approved research efforts, or merely wax poetic, I will do so.

I presently work for Parsons Brinckerhoff, a large consulting firm that works on water resource management, and occasionally author articles for Mongabay. The opinions on this blog are my own and do not indicate an endorsement by anybody.
